Sunset Bike Racing
More games to play
Sunset Bike Racing is a 2D physics-based stunt game where you ride a dirt bike across offroad tracks full of ramps, drops, and obstacles. The core loop is simple: throttle, balance, crash, and rewind. It is free to play in the browser with no download required, so it works at school or wherever browser games are available. The game stands out for its time-rewind feature. Crash at the top of a ramp and you can roll back a few seconds and try that landing again rather than restarting the whole run. Ghost riders from your previous attempts appear on the track too, so every retry is a quiet race against yourself.
What is Sunset Bike Racing?
Sunset Bike Racing is a single-player 2D stunt-racing game. You guide a dirt bike through a series of offroad levels packed with jumps and drops, controlling both throttle and body tilt to land cleanly. Earn a star rating on each track to unlock faster bikes. The physics are forgiving enough to be fun but strict enough that sloppy landings send you tumbling. Released on Android in March 2016, iOS in January 2017, and as a browser game in May 2024.
Controls and balance
Throttle and lean controls are the whole game. Keep the bike level through the air and you carry speed into the next section.
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Accelerate | W or Space |
| Brake | S or Ctrl |
| Rotate in air | A (back) / D (forward) |
| Boost | Left Shift |
Bikes and star unlocks
Stars are awarded based on how cleanly you finish each track. Collect enough and faster bikes become available. The unlock system gives you a reason to replay earlier tracks for a better rating rather than just pushing forward.
Bikes differ in speed and handling. Faster is not always easier on technical tracks with tight landings.
| Unlock trigger | What you get |
|---|---|
| Earn stars across tracks | Faster bike classes |
| Replay for higher rating | Better star count on older tracks |
The rewind and ghost system
The time-rewind mechanic sets this game apart from standard bike games. After a crash you can hold the rewind control and step back a few seconds, then try the approach differently. There is no penalty for rewinding, so it turns frustrating crashes into a puzzle.
Ghost riders show your previous best run on the track. Beating your own ghost is not required but it adds a quiet competitive layer to solo play.
Tips for cleaner runs
- Land with the bike as level as possible. A nose-down landing usually sends you over the handlebars.
- Use the brake before a steep drop, not after you are already airborne.
- Save boost for flat sections where you can carry the speed through. Boosting into a jump often kills your control.
- If a section keeps catching you, use rewind to isolate that one moment rather than retrying the whole track.
- Chase three-star ratings on earlier tracks before moving on. The faster bikes make later levels noticeably easier.
